Subhajit Paul Discusses AI Applications in ERP at TechX Florida 2025
TechX Florida 2025 was honored to welcome our speaker Subhajit Paul, an IEEE Senior Member and SAP-certified Transformation Lead at Jabil. He unveiled an ambitious project detailing the implementation of a third-party AI/ML solution to optimize mobile material placement in the warehouse.
💡 The core AIML 'Best Bin' Challenge: How to integrate intelligent bin suggestions into a high-volume process (23,000+ daily transactions) without exceeding a 2-second response time for mobile RF device users globally? In addition, the solution would need to be both lightning-fast and contextually aware.
🎯 AIML to the Rescue: Subhajit walked us through multiple machine learning approaches to determine the best bin via careful consideration of multiple real-world factors, to name a few:
• Package Data: Dimensions and capacity matching.
• Travel Time: Minimizing travel distance from the receiving/manufacturing floor.
• Production Demand: Prioritizing bins based on when materials are actually needed (Needed Sooner vs. Later).
🧠 Continuous Learning: A sustainable project, though, is not just a one-time deployment; it established a robust learning loop to ensure continuous improvement via scanner feedback, user action data and the engine from the rich solution feedback.
In general, a key takeaway from the project is the practical loop: "go-live, monitor & get insights, develop more, learn from new results, etc."
✨ Sounds cool right? Stay tuned as we share with you more insights into AI applications in enterprise directly from our speakers at TechX Florida 2025:)
